Formation of MBMF Overseas


Ms. Patsy Henson, the national president of the Mother Butler Mission Guilds (MBMG),in a speech before the members of Daet MBMG chapter in Camarines Norte, described the impending formation of the first overseas MBMG chapters in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia as a much welcome development.


In the welcome dinner program tendered last May 6, 2011 by Daet Chapter for Ms. Henson, MBMG National Vice-president for Luzon Lilia Pineda and MBMG National Secretary Mely Diaz. Ms.Henson also noted the growth in membership of Daet Chapter.

Most Reverend Gilbert A. Garcera, Bishop of Daet Diocese, welcomed the visitors in a short talk in which he asked Daet chapter to invite members from the municipalities of Sta. Elena, Capalonga and Paracale as he urged the chapter to increase its membership to 150 by 2015.

The national officers’ visit came 5 years after the council’s last visit on May 26, 2006. Ms. Henson also announced that La Union MBMG is hosting the 2011 Luzon Regional Convention while the 2012 national convention will be held in Iloilo.

National VP for Luzon Lilia Pineda, meanwhile, asked the chapter members to familiarize themselves with liturgical vestments expressing the need to sustain unity among the chapter units.

The dinner program was highlighted by the 2010 performance report by Daet Chapter President Antonia Ramores and Chapter Treasurer Lina Jueves. It was preceded by a thanksgiving mass officiated by Chapter Spiritual Director Rev. Fr.Rowel Jose P. Abanto.
